  • 1. What is the myDNA Personalised Nutrition Report?
     

    The myDNA Personalised Nutrition Report tests 7 genes that can influence body weight and size. Based on the results of your report you will receive a recommended diet that is most suitable to your body.

    We provide you a diet guide and an example of food options including portion sizes that can be applied in a meaningful way for weight loss. These suggestions are based on healthy individuals so if you have chronic health issues, are pregnant or breast feeding we always suggest taking your results and seeing a health care professional before starting a new diet.

    This test is done via a cheek swab, and can be purchased through your all good pharmacy across Canada.

    Our reports and findings are developed in accordance to internationally recognised guidelines and factor in large number of published studies. More information on all of our tests can be found on this website.

  • 2. What is the myDNA multi-condition Medication test?
     

    The myDNA multi-condition Medication test allows our customers to learn more about which selected medications are most likely to work for them. The test covers some of the most commonly prescribed medications, including mental health, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and pain medications. This test is done via a cheek swab and results go straight to your healthcare professional, which we ask you to nominate at the time of the registration.

    Our reports and findings are developed in accordance to internationally recognised guidelines and factor in large number of published studies. More information on all of our tests can be found at our website.

  • 3. Are myDNA tests suitable for pregnant women?
     

    Your DNA stays the same throughout your life and does not change because of pregnancy. This means that we can test your DNA using our standard tests and get accurate results.

    However, it is important to note that some of the suggestions given in myDNA reports may not be suitable for pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding. It is advised that you take your results to your health care professional before starting a new diet, changing an exercise routine, or modifying any medications that you are currently taking.

  • 4. Do you test for lactose / gluten intolerance, celiac disease, or allergies?
     

    No. myDNA does not offer testing for intolerance's or allergies.

  • 5. Do the myDNA Medication reports include the Wellness and Nutrition report?
     

    No. The myDNA Medication kit and the Wellness & Nutrition kit are two separate tests. The myDNA Medication Test provides results on how our DNA affect response to certain medications for pain, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and mental health. The Wellness & Nutrition Test looks at a different set of genes that relate to diet and fitness.

    Because of this, a different swab is needed for each test. You can buy the Multiple Condition Medication report, which covers your response to medications for pain, mental health, cardiovascular issues and gastrointestinal issues and you can buy the Wellness & Nutrition Test separately.

  • 6. Can I get my myDNA Medication report without going through a pharmacy or nominating a medical professional?
     

    No. We are unable to sell or release myDNA Medication reports directly to you due to regulations. After your myDNA Accredited Pharmacist or Doctor has gone through your Medication report with you, please call us and you will have full access to your report and results online through your secure myDNA Explore portal.

  • 1. I posted my swab to you but I have not received an email yet.
     

    On our records, we will be able to see that you have registered your kit and confirm that we have not yet received the swab in our lab. Please use the contact us form so that we can discuss the options with you.

  • 2. How long before I get my results?
     

    The expected turn around time for your results is 10-15 business days from when we receive your sample at the lab. (This does not include weekends, public holidays or time spent in post)

    We will notify you via email when our Lab has received your sample so you can be kept up to date.

    Once your results are ready you will receive another email with the link to the patient portal explore.mydna.life where you can login using the username and password chosen during the registration process. If you have forgotten your password, you can simply click on the "I forgot my login details" link to reset it.

  • 3. How do I access my results?
     

    You can access your results at our online customer portal by going to explore.mydna.life

    Simply enter the username and password you setup when registering your kit.

    If you have forgotten your login details, you can reset it by clicking on the "I forgot my login details" link and entering your email address.

  • 1. I entered the wrong email when registering my kit
     

    Please use the Contact Us form to let us know your name and new email address. We will update the record and send you a confirmation of the change.

  • 2. How do I register my kit / swab?
     

    Please click on "Register" in the top menu of this website. This will take you to www.mydna.life/register. Start the kit registration process by entering your unique 10 digit barcode as found in the Test Kit box, and follow the process to complete the registration. Once you have successfully registered you will receive an email confirming registration.

    Remember to write your details on the swab packaging before sending it in for testing.

  • 3. I am getting an error when trying to register my swab and/or barcode
     

    We are sorry to hear you are receiving an error when you try to register your swab. On the registration page, please try pressing the "Control key" and the" F5 key" together and this will clear the browser cache. Next please try to register your barcode once again.

    If you still receive an error, please use the Contact Us form and provide the following details:

    • Barcode Number
    • First Name, Last Name
    • Postal address
    • Your date of birth
    • Email address
    • Name of the Store where you purchased your myDNA kit

  • 1. I cannot remember my username and password
     

    Please go to the Login Page on the explore.mydna.life portal and click on "I forgot my password". Type in your registered email address and the system will send you an email with your username and a link for you to reset your password.
