Over the month of November, our Australian and US teams are championing men’s health by growing a mo or moving 60kms for Movember – the leading charity of men’s health.
Movember has funded an astonishing 1,250 men’s health projects globally in the areas of mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer, with the aim to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% by 2030. The charity encourages participants to grow a mo or move 60kms over the month of November to raise funds that help it continue supporting men’s health. The 60kms is significant as it represents the 60 men lost to suicide every hour globally.
We realise championing men’s health has never been more important, especially after a tough year for so many. As such, this Movember, staff across myDNA, Gene By Gene and FamilyTree DNA will be flaunting mos or moving 60ms in an effort to raise much-needed funds and awareness for this worthy cause.
Our ambassador, Luke Milton, is also on board, taking up the challenge to grow a mo for this incredible cause.
myDNA CEO, Lior Rauchberger, has stated “Movember is a great initiative to put men’s health front and centre. Starting a conversation will help reduce the stigma associated with men’s health. It may be only one month of the year, but Movember encourages men to “start talking” and has a carry-on effect that could save a man’s life”.
