Hereditary Cancer Screen Test

The Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Screen identifies variances in DNA and screens for a predisposition toward hereditary cancer such as breast and ovarian cancer, colorectal cancer, and Lynch syndrome. Indications of possible hereditary cancer predisposition include: several members of the same family affected with the same type of cancer or similar types, early onset of cancer in an individual or personal history of several primary cancers.

Our Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Test screens for 113 genes. Most of the genes on the panel, with few exceptions, are associated with inherited cancer syndromes with an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern. However, some also include rare diseases with an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern.

Benefits of Testing

01. It can identify and manage hereditary conditions.

02. Provides valuable insights into unexplained symptoms.

03. Assess the risk of developing familial conditions.

Testing may be appropriate for patients with a
family history or symptoms indicating a genetic condition.
